An illustration that could integrate the different places and languages we lived in. I came up with the design below which has a greeting from each of our respective cities, London, Edinburgh, Paris, Berlin and New York. I then got the image made into a A5 size stickers and sent them off to my friends with the simple instructions of go out and put them up around the city they lived in, have fun and take a couple of pictures to record it. I have to say a massive thanks to Dino, Caroline, Joel and Owen for taking the time to do it. Much appreciated. Try to spot some of the major landmarks in the backgrounds of some of the photos.

With the help of my photographer mate and some cheap glue we went off in search of some good spots to stick the work up. Most of the pieces have disappeared since i did it, hopefully to loving homes. I think i need to use better glue and maybe some ladders next time to keep them well out of reach. Too many art hungry fingers.

We were individually sent large white umbrellas in the post (very confused postman) and given a open brief to paint our designs. The finished umbrellas took part in a showcase parade at Artfusion on 17th June and Solas Festival main stage, both in and around Glasgow. I decided to make my umbrella into a whirlpool with monsters battling each other in the swirling waves. Here are the results.

I started with a plain white pair of canvas shoes and with little to no planning i attacked them with a sharpie pen. It wasn’t the most easy process as trying to make them symmetrical was pretty difficult but i think it worked out okay. Laura seemed to like them anyway, well she didn’t kick me with them so i take that as a good sign.

The winner will have their image printed on t-shirts and sold as part of the Brew Dog range. Unfortuantly i had very little time to whip this image up but i am fairly happy with the final outcome. I called it “Hair o the dug” after the idea that all you need is another drink in the morning if you have a hangover (the hair of the dog) and the brands name “Brew Dog” also helped! I will wait and see how it fairs and keep you all posted, fingers crossed.

It is a fantastic mag that highlights music, art, dance, theater and everything in between going on in Scotland on a weekly basis. I have been asked to do work for the nightclub section so i have been making bright, bold, graphic images to represent the vibrant night life going on around the country. They are a little surreal as well which makes me happy as i like to make abstract images. I hope they inspire you to go out dancing.

I should really say its a giant orange monkey of a post! I was recently asked by the lovely people at “End of the Pier Films” to paint a King Kong character on their studio wall. They have moved from Berlin and have a very exciting future ahead of them so i was delighted to be involved in their rebirth in Scotland. As they are an animation company it was easy to set up a stop motion video camera to film me as i painted the wall mural. It was the first time i had ever done something of this scale so it was a challenge but a fun one. I think it works well but i would love to hear any feedback from you. Life is good if you have a giant orange monkey in your life!!
